15 Miles From Heaven

AMPCAST

Its mid July and finally I have had my fill of fun
No more toil where pavement boils beneath a burnin' sun
The clearin' air and scent of pine reminds me all to well
I'm fifteen miles from heaven
And a hundred miles from hell

Nothin' can entwine the mind like Phoenix in July
The thunder storms that hug the mountains tease the desert life
From the sweet smell of poorin' rain on the windshield I can tell
I'm fifteen miles from heaven
And a hundred miles from hell

I use to think those mountain towns boring as can be
Excitement in the streets of Phoenix callin' out to me
Two long years in the desert sun taught me all to well
I'm fifteen miles from heaven
And a hundred miles from hell

I've walked beneath the buildings in the crowded city streets
Where the Cactus shrivels in the inhospitable thirsty desert heat
Now thinkin' about that mountain air just makes me wana yell
I'm fifteen miles from heaven
And a hundred miles from hell
I'm fifteen miles from heaven
And a hundred miles from hell
